Sarah Jane Scaife, acting director in the Tisch Dublin Summer High School Program, will be directing a production of Samuel Beckett’s Act Without Words II in New York for the River to River Festival this summer. This mime-play is “a powerful poignant vignette of human existence…”  writes The Irish Times.

Sarah Jane Scaife has directed and lectured on Beckett all over the world from China to India, Greece to Mongolia. She first discovered this Beckett piece when she studied mime and drama in New York 20 years ago – she has carried it with her and and it has been performed in many different spaces from Ireland’s National Theatre (The Abbey) to obscure open landscapes and city laneways.
